My Tapes: Season 7

#701 - Night of the Blood Beast, with the short, Once Upon a Honeymoon

Summary:

Roger Corman, again. Fortunately, it's a monster movie, so it's not dull, just stupid. An astronaut goes into space, comes back dead, then comes back to life impregnated with shrimp. A parrotlike monster roams around a bit. They both die in a flaming finish. The short is an ad for phones, I think.

Favorite line:

"There's a cartoon under the microscope!"

Leonard Maltin gives it: *1/2

#702 - The Brute Man, with the short, The Chicken of Tomorrow

Summary:

Talk about exploiting! The main actor, Rondo Hattan, has a really deformed face, so they make it the point of the movie! Geeze, that's insensitive. It was the poor guy's last movie before he died, too. Poor guy. Sorry, I'm just upset. The short is an ad for modern chicken-raising processes.

Favorite Line:

As the Creeper walks past a guy on the street, "Hi, Creeper." "Hi, person."

Leonard Maltin gives it: *1/2

#703 - Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell

Summary:

A swords-and-sorcery pile of doodoo. Stars a hero named Deathstalker, a couple of princesses, a treasure city (which looks like a regular city), the woman who played Cathy in Alien Nation as an evil lady, a warrior with a bat-winged helmet, and some short bald guy. I can't think of too much else about it, other than that it sucked.

Favorite Line:

"Y'know, your warriors from Hell eat eight pounds of insects a night."

Leonard Maltin gives it: Bomb

#704 - The Incredible Melting Man

Summary:

The title kinda says it all. A guy melts and kills people.

Favorite Line:

A nurse runs through a self-storage place, and Crow says, "Come to Organ Donor City. We'll help you pick the organ that's just right for you."

Leonard Maltin gives it: *1/2

#706 - Laserblast

Summary:

No idea, really. The movie wanders all over the place. Something about turtle aliens, and a ray gun, and a hand grenade necklace, and some teen issues, and Roddy McDowell. The episode was the series finale for Comedy Central.

Favorite Line:

While Eddie Deezen and the other guy drive around, "The accelerator pedal's stuck! Help us!"

Leonard Maltin gives it: **1/2
