This is a pic of my 1984 Pontiac Firebird. I can say right
now, it looks pretty good for its age and it accelerates like a bat out of
hell. Just don't compare it to a Corvette or Porsche. The previous owner
fixed up the body to eliminate rust spots and it apears to be in
immaculte condition. A nice AIWA CD
player powers the 4 speakers, making those longer road trips more
bearable...
It also helps to cruise around town, you can't cruise without making
noise. Some modifications made to it before I purchased it are the 16x8
IROC-Z Camaro wheels, Edelbrock carburetor, the catalytic converter has
been gutted (making it emissions illegal in 40+ states) and it has a
HurstTM short shifter hooked up to
the T-5, 5 speed manual transmission (so solid!).
The car measures 189.9 inches long, 72 inches wide and 49.7 inches high... I really like a low ride. I can't buy a car more than 52 inches high. Anything higher would be ludicrous, plus higher cars cost more right? Look at the Chevy Tahoe, MSRP is around $40,000 and it measures 76.3 inches high.... I have only had to put $1,600 into this project so far...at 49.7 inches... 40,000 - 1,600 = 38,400, now we take that difference and divide it by the difference in height (26.6 inches) and we come out with $1,443 per inch over 50 inches with a base of $1,600 dollars... you do the math and decide which is a better deal... disregard any advice to the contrary...
Go here to get the details on my custom built MATTHEW security system... this has to be one of the best systems on the market.
Future plans include a high flow cat-back system and a belt for the smog pump... mostly so I can keep it on the road come inspection time next year.
