Jermaine's Home Page

Hi, My name is Jermaine Millwood. I am a Junior at Binghamton University and I am pursuing English as my major. Although I started out as a Engineering student with a minor in English, I later came to realize that my dream of becoming a Engineer would take on a whole different role. From a child growing up I always loved English, but I never dreamed of making it my career goal. What I've come to realize is that English is what the world is built upon, and through English we can communicate with each other better.
Words are express in so many ways, just as English
we use to communicate, like love, compassion,
or dreams are true,
so does English flows when you put words two by two.

To Jamaica

I was born on September 17,1976 in Kingston, Jamaica. I am the second oldest child in my family. As a young person growing up in Jamaica, it was always an adventure. There is always something new to discover in Jamaica. The people, the food, the music, arts and crafts, historical land marks, and the different cultures.Jamaica the land of wood and water is one of the most popular Island Paradise in the world. When I think of Jamaica, I think of home, it's who I am, where I'm from. Jamaica is more than apart of me, it's me because everywhere I go I represent Jamaica the land of my birth, and I'm proud to be called a Jamaican.

Apart from being a proud Jamaican. I'm also very proud of my family heritage. I consider myself to be very lucky, to have such a rich family background. My ancestors came from both India and Africa, during the slave trade. My dad is of an Indian descent and my mother of an African descent. So myself and brothers are a mixed of both Indian and African descent. I know very little about my ancestors, but I would love to find out more about them. I believe that I have family in India that I have never met before, even in Jamaica the "Millwood" family line is too big to trace. I also have family in Jamaica that I've never met but heard of . Both of my parenst only have one sibling. My mother has a brother,Michael Brown, and my father has a brother, Gilbert Millwood.
I lived in Jamaica for fourteen years of my life. I attended Kingston College in Jamaica from 1989-1991, then I came to the United States in July of 1991. In the United States my life started all over again, new friends, relatives, and also a new baby brother. He is another addition to my family, now my parents have seven boys, which to my mother is a blessing. I attended Evander Childs High School in the Bronx from 1991-1995. I graduated on June 26, 1995. Now I am currently attending Binghamton University as a proud Eop student.
Throughout the coures of my life God plays a very important role. He is the head of my life, and my family. The greatest gift that a man can find is the love of God.
